David E. Douglas is Professor of Information Systems in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas. He was chair of the Information Systems Department from 1985 through 1998. David now teaches in the areas of DBMS/Data Warehousing/Data Mining, Systems Development, Microcomputer Applications, Object-Oriented Technologies and Systems Simulation. His research interests include pedagogy for distance education, e-commerce, and the area of database management systems/data warehousing/data mining. Of particular interest in the database management area is object databases. He was President of the Decision Sciences Institute--Southwest Region for 1996-1997. and the Associate Program Chair for the Decision Sciences Institute for the 1999 national meeting.
