What interests you about big data?

Big data is fascinating in that it can be used both to better interpret the past and to predict the future. The applications are never-ending, making big data an incredibly useful tool in any situation.

What is the favorite thing about your big data club?

There are many challenges we face by getting involved in data analytics at the high school level, such as a lack of experienced faculty and an inability to find helpful resources amidst tons of information. I love the community we’ve built as a club. We’re able to laugh and problem solve at the same time.

What has surprised you the most about working with big data?

The difficulty in finding a “good” data set surprised me. Getting accurate results is almost impossible. So, big data analysis is really more about working with what data you have to come up with interesting and important insights.

Why do you love working with the Teradata University Network community?

The Teradata University Network is dedicated to helping students and educators. They’re enthusiasm regarding our club and high schoolers is exhilarating. I’m so grateful to have such wonderful partners through TUN.

If you could describe TUN in one word, what would it be?
