Paul Cao

Paul Cao is a lecturer in the Computer Science & Engineering Department at the University of California, San Diego since 2015. Before coming to UCSD, he was an associate professor of Computer Science at Ashland University, a liberal arts college at Ashland Ohio, between 2007 and 2015. Paul received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Duke University in 2006 with a focus on gene expression data modeling and analysis. Currently, he primarily teaches four core courses in the computer science curriculum at UC San Diego. His research interest is computer science education with a focus on collaborative learning and assessments. He is also involved in more traditional research on network data analysis and distributed learning. Paul was on the program committee of MobiData 2017, ITiCSE 2017, 2018 and SIGCSE 2018.
